Oral cancer is the abnormal growth of cells in the oral cavity \u2013 including the lips, tongue, mouth and throat. The death rate for oral cancer has always been relatively high compared to many other common cancers — not because it’s hard to diagnose or treat, but because in many cases it is found too late \u2013 after it\u2019s metastasized to another area of the body (such as the lymph nodes).<\/p>\n
