I don’t know why my dental crown fell off. \u00a0My dentist says it’s no big deal and happens all the time. \u00a0He’ll put it back on for free, but he can’t get to me today. \u00a0He’ll see me in about a week. I’m so embarassed. I don’t want a stub on one of my visible top teeth for a week. Is there a way to put it back on myself?<\/p>\n

You’ve only written one small paragraph and I already think you need a new dentist. First, dental crowns don’t fall off all the time. In fact, they shouldn’t fall off at all. Second, if you wait a week before your dentist puts it back on, you’ll have to get a totally new crown because your teeth will have shifted and your crown will no longer fit.<\/p>\n

I wouldn’t normally suggest this, but in your case, I think you need to see an emergency dentist<\/a>. This will get your crown bonded back on quickly AND properly.<\/p>\n

If your crown fell off, it’s because your dentist doesn’t know how to properly bond them on. To be frank, between the lack of skill and the lack of caring, you need a new dentist.<\/p>\n

I don’t recommend trying to do it yourself. It’s unlikely you’d get it in just the right position and that would end up causing you pain when you bite down. \u00a0An emergency dentist can likely get you in today.<\/p>\n
