My parents are out of the country. I’ve had the house to myself the past two weeks. \u00a0They’ll be home in two weeks themselves. \u00a0My boyfriend and I got into a huge fight last night. He pushed me and I tripped and landed on the bar. \u00a0My front tooth got knocked out. \u00a0Clarke feels real bad about it and apologized a ton. I don’t want my mom to find out because we got into a fight once before. My mom said if it happened again she wouldn’t let me see him anymore. \u00a0If I’m 17, can I get it fixed on my own or will a parent have to accompany me?<\/p>\n

In most states the age of majority is eighteen. Until then, you will likely need to have your mother’s permission to get medical treatment. I’m assuming because your mother was going to be out of the country for so long that she has a guardianship filled out for someone in case of emergency. \u00a0This person can also take you. \u00a0Hopefully, she told you who that was.<\/p>\n

If not, you can call your mom and find out. \u00a0She wouldn’t have to know how your tooth came out, but you need to be treated. It’s likely too late to save your tooth, because you waited too long to be treated. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t get the tooth replaced. \u00a0Generally, when a tooth is knocked out, you need to get to an emergency dentist<\/a> with the tooth within thirty minutes.<\/p>\n

On a personal note, just because you can lie about what happened to your tooth doesn’t mean you should. I know you probably love your boyfriend very much, but you need to consider that if he’s got a problem with his temper this young it will only get worse. \u00a0It would probably be best for him to be held accountable early on so he takes getting help seriously.<\/p>\n
