Got water? Drink up… it does the body good!

Posted on June 21, 2017 by Lake County Dental Care.

Water helps nearly every part of the human body function efficiently.

Water helps nearly every part of the human body function efficiently.

With summer heating up, so are your activities and fun outdoors.

It’s more important than ever to keep the liquids flowing because studies show that nearly 75% of Americans are dehydrated and may not even know it.

It’s a problem that is more serious than you think – and it could land you or someone you love in the hospital.

And if you think those tall glasses of lemonade and tea or super-sized cups of soda will do the trick… think again.

Good, clean water helps your body function healthy and efficiently by:

>> Protecting and cushioning vital organs and joints

>> Converting food into energy

>> Absorbing nutrients

>> Removing waste

>> Pumping blood through the blood vessels to the muscles

So exactly how much water do you need?

That really depends on the individual, but if you notice any of the following signs, drink up because you may be dehydrated.
>> Fatigue

>> Loss of appetite

>> Flushed skin

>> Heat intolerance

>> Light-headedness

>> Dark-colored urine

>> Dry cough

The best way to beat dehydration is to drink before you get thirsty. If you wait until after you’re thirsty, it’s too late.

How much water should you drink everyday?

Make your daily dose of water flavorful and fun.

If a glass of plain old water just seems too boring, there are so many ways to “dress” it up with more flavor by infusing with fruit and other ingredients. By making your own infused waters you can create any combination you love and add as little or as much fruits and herbs into your drink as you like!

The possibilities are endless… and delicious!
