Dr. David Potts
Dr. Potts is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available. He opened his practice in April of 1974 and is part of a 35-year Libertyville tradition. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry, with a strong emphasis on getting to know each patient. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Potts is a careful listener. He will make sure he understands what you want and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs, along with all options available to you.

Helping Fearful Patients
“The greatest rewards I get are the joy and gratitude expressed by our patients when we have helped a person who was so frightened of dentistry that they could hardly pick up the phone to call for an appointment, much less walk in the door, get out of pain, and be able to smile again with no pain and embarrassment.”
Repairing Smiles
“I remember when we first helped a now long-term patient who had all her upper teeth removed before she was even twenty years old. She had a denture that didn’t fit and unhealthy spongy gums under it. The bad denture was severely worn down. Through our custom denture process, we first used a ‘diagnostic’ denture to determine the proper location for her teeth in a natural-looking smile and to condition and heal the gums under the denture. After we had properly repaired any decayed or damaged lower teeth she was thrilled with the smile, fit, and function, we created a final upper denture. The gums around the teeth looked so natural that not even a dentist could tell [the dentures] were not real. She was so happy she wept with joy and no longer covers her mouth when she smiles. It just doesn’t get any better than that.”
Personal Interests
Dr. Potts has been married for 40+ years to his wife, Lorraine. They have two adult children, a son and daughter. They also have three amazing grandchildren who bring joy to their lives and they see as often as possible. For fun, they love to travel and see theater and movies. Dr. Potts loves to play golf, read, walk, and exercise, as well as continue both his personal and professional development.
