My mom’s teeth have just started falling out. We don’t know why. She doesn’t have any cavities or anything like that. We’ll need to replace her teeth, but I’m not sure the best option, given that she’s lost four teeth and I don’t know if more will come out. I’ve heard good things about dental implants. What do you think?

Gregory,
It sounds like your mother is suffering from very advanced gum disease. Though dental implants are a fantastic treatment for replacing missing teeth, they’re not a good fit for your mother. They only work for patients with healthy teeth and gums.
You can have some dentures made for her while you address the issue with her gum disease.
After that is dealt with, if you still want dental implants, she’ll likely also need bone grafting to make it possible.
First priority is getting her mouth healthy.
