I don’t like dental care. Is it possible to get sedated for any kind of dental work? Even cleanings and such?
Serena I. – Billings, MT
Serena,
It is possible to have several different levels of sedation during your dental care. You can have everything from nitrous oxide to “relax” you all the way to IV sedation. However, each dentist is different as to what types of sedation dentistry they provide and for which services.
I would speak to your dental provider. Let him or her know your concerns. Be sure they’re aware of your dental fear, all of it, so that you can come up with a mutally comfortable solution.
Many people are afraid of being judged by their dentist, so they hold things back, including some of their fear. To be honest, most dentists care much more about their patients than that.
