I am so humiliated. I needed to go to the dentist, but I have a deathly fear of them. I drank some wine before my appointment. Apparently, I drank more than I expected, because the dentist had to call my husband to pick me up. I was drunk. It’s the worst experience of my life. I still have to get this toothache taken care of, but I don’t think I can do it without some form of alcohol. Can you help me?

Jane,
I’m sorry for your experience. That must have been quite a disheartening. I can assure you there is a way to get you through your experience at the dentists without any alcohol whatsoever.
Additionally, you can do it competley pain-free. Ask your dentist about sedation dentistry. This can enable you to get a lot of dental work done without having to deal with your anxiety.
You will need someone to drive you to and from your appoitment, because you’ll be too relaxed to drive. I’d suggest oral conscious sedation for you.
