I’m getting dental implants in a month and my boss is asking how long I’ll need to take off for recovery. What is typical?

Oscar,
It’s hard to answer that question for you without knowing more about your situation. Are you getting one dental implant? Are you getting an entire arch done? Is it the top arch or the bottom arch? Will you need any bone grafting done or do you have enough healthy bone to procede with what you already have?
To give you a very rough estimate, if you only needed one implant and no extra work done, you could likely resume work the next day. You’ll be sore, but some pain medicine will take care of that. But, on the the other end of things, if you need your top arch done, it could take a week of pretty good down time.
I don’t know if that helped, but it will at least give you a range to go by. This blog is brought to you by Libertyville Dentist Dr. David Potts.
