I get percocets from my doctor for pain. I m not crazy about dentists. I wondered if it was safe to take a percocet before my appointment to kind of relax me?

Delaney,
You can take a percocet, if you feel that will help you. Just be very certain you let your dentist know, so he doesn’t give you anything that can be counter-indicative. You may want to tell you dentist before you take it. Sometimes, you can forget things while on percocet.
Before you make a decision, I want to suggest sedation dentistry to you. This will be a little more appropriate for your situation than percocet. You can choose what level of sedation you get, anywhere from nitrous oxide (to relax you), oral conscious sedation (where you’re not likely to remember the appointment), or if you’re very fearful, IV sedation.
Talk to your dentist about your fear. He can help you decide what is the most appropriate course for you.
