I am disabled and have a hard time getting places. I have friends who take me to the grocery store and doctor’s appointments, but I really hate asking them if it isn’t necessary. I’ve recently come into a little bit of money and want to straighten my teeth. They aren’t too bad, just some mild misalignment. However, with Invisalign, I’d have to go to the dentist every four weeks and I already feel like I ask too much of my friends. Do you think there is a dentist who would let me only come every few months? That would be more manageable.
Eve
Dear Eve,
There may be a sympathetic dentist who would be willing to work with you, but I have a different suggestion instead. Because you only have mild misalignment, I am going to suggest that you see if you are a candidate for the CandidPro Teeth Straightening System. This is similar to Invisalign or other clear aligner programs, such as Clear Correct. However, you can do almost completely from home using their app and scanner. Given your situation, this sounds ideal for you.
I’m hopeful you are a good candidate for it because you said you only have moderate misalignment. That is what CandidPro speacializes in. Another bonus is it will work a bit faster than other options.
If it turns out you are not a good candidate for this, hope is not lost. There will be a sympathetic dentist somewhere who is willing to work with you. Instead of coming in once a month, they may let you come in once every two months. This, of course, will depend on whether everything is going according to the planned treatment.
Best of luck to you and enjoy that straight smile!
